On Nature's Doorstep
We're blessed to be located in a woodland river valley below the cliff-top Pennard Castle, a 30min walk through forest and coastal paths from Three Cliffs Bay, one of Wales’ most picturesque beaches, and the secluded, hidden gem that is Pobbles Beach.
Some words from the "Guvnor"
Chris Blakeborough-Pownall | Proprietor
Returning to the place of my childhood roots, I saw the potential for restoring The Gower Inn to more halcyon days. The chance to realise a long held dream to show my passion for the food I love to cook, and share it with the world. Creating a home away from home, for that ritual we all love so much, of sharing a beautiful meal around a table with family and friends in a setting you just don’t want to leave.
The food and atmosphere are a huge reflection of my personality. It's a source of enormous pride to serve authentic cuisine so closely connected to the land and sea that surrounds and sustains us on the Gower. All under one guiding philosophy - simple, beautiful ingredients, beautifully cooked from produce sourced as locally and sustainably as possible.
See you all soon. Chris.

Our restaurant & bar
Relax and recharge... we serve delicious food throughout the day and our restaurant is both family & dog friendly, catering for small and large groups. We also have free parking for our customers.
Our Lucky Shot bar is a 'pub within a pub', perfect for a quiet chat over drinks if your appetite isn't quite ready to dive into our menus.

Outdoor dining & drinks
Our large beer garden will keep you fed and watered all day, when the Welsh weather permits. We have ample space to eat and drink outside, soaking up the sun and fresh ocean air. Pray to the weather gods!

Perfect Sunday roasts
Made with fresh, local produce from our slow roasted short-rib beef & medium rare roasted rump with Yorkshire pud, to braised lamb shank and roasted guinea fowl, all served with crunchy roast potatoes, buttered seasonal greens and more, our Sunday roast menu has something for everyone.
Let us do the cooking and enjoy a perfect lazy Sunday with us. But do try to book your table in advance as our roasts are incredibly popular and places are in demand.
Food beyond the ordinary
There is nothing ordinary (or small) about our Landlord and nothing ordinary or small about his Suckling pig and ‘Thor’s Hammer’ (whole bone-in beef shin). You’ll need the appetite of a Norse god and some friends to work your way through these delicious sharing specials. Incredible food you won’t find anywhere else on the Gower.

We have our own Gin
It began with the simple idea, to give our best to our customers, alongside a commitment to sourcing everything possible from the area we live in, that helps sustain us. And so, born of our landlord's passion and local pride, "Gower Viking" Gin came into being.
With four distinct flavours to cater for every palate and a special reserve gin, they will all comfortably stand alongside any established brand, something our customers will attest to. All our flavours are available to purchase by the bottle from behind our bar, and of course, our bar staff will happily prepare your favourite drink of choice.
Friday night lights
Sometimes you just need to turn up the volume and bring a little passion to life. Every Friday night we support & showcase local artists looking to do just that. If you love the thrill of live music then come and join us.
Find us on Instagram & Facebook
Follow us on Instagram and Facebook and keep up to date with our specials and menu changes, events, live music and more. Share your own photos of your time with us too – we’d love to see them.
Discover the beauty of Three Cliffs Bay & the Gower Peninsula
Some say it's all about the beaches, from Three Cliffs Bay, to Oxwich, Rhossili Bay and Llangennith, among a multitude of hidden secret coves & inlets. The Gower Peninsula is blessed with some of the most breathtaking coastline anywhere in the UK and was the first to be awarded protected status as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. But there's more to see and do on the Gower than just the beaches.
